Frequently Asked Questions
Can I purchase used or new parts from Z Sport for me to install myself?
Yes, however there are items we will refuse to sell used. These are common sense items such as brake parts, various suspension items, and other items that may be a safety hazard if installed used.
What is The Engine & Transmission Exchange?
The Engine & Transmission Exchange, AKA Engine Exchange, is Z Sport's Sister company. It is the south side of our building where engines and transmission are replaced with good low mileage import engines or transmissions, or rebuilt/remanufactured engines or transmissions. The Engine Exchange has its own machine shop where hundreds and hundreds of engines are remanfactured a year, the majority of them being Toyota 22R and 3VZE Engines found in Toyota Pick Ups, Toyota 4Runners, among other Toyotas.
I have a $35 off coupon I received in the mail from Z Sport over the holidays, when does it expire?
It never expires. These coupons are good forever.

Yes we do. We are now a Licensed Dealer/Broker. We typically have a few cars for sale in front of the shop, however, we specialize in finding the exact car you are looking for at a very affordable price.
Is Z Sport located near any bus stops, bus stations, or train stations?
We are just about 2 blocks south of the Everett Transit Center.
Do you have license plate frames or vehicle decals with the Z Sport logos available?
We do have License Plate Frames available as well as Z Sport Racing Windshield Banners.
Is Z Sport a wrecking yard?
No, we are not a wrecking yard.
My mailing address/e-mail/phone number has changed, do I need to inform Z Sport of any of these changes?
Yes, it would be best to let us know as soon as the changes are made so we have good contacts for when your vehicle is in the shop. We also send out coupons and newsletters from time to time, so a good mailing address would be very helpful.
Yes. Stop by with a resume and fill out an application.
I am selling my vehicle and I need my past maintenance history, does Z Sport have this information on file?
Yes we do. We keep all the vehicle maintenance history from oil changes to full engine replacements on file and in our computer servers.
When Z Sport was first started, we were primarily a Specialty Shop that specialized in building, tuning, and modifying Nissan/Datsun Z cars. We still specialize in Z cars, however now we specialize in most other makes as well.
Does Z Sport work on other cars besides Nissan Z Cars?
Yes. We work on all vehicle makes and models.
Does Z Sport perform oil change services?
Yes we do. It is best to schedule a Lube, Oil, and Filter at least one day ahead of time.
How do I set up or make an appointment?
Just contact us at 425-259-4691, and any one of our service managers can help.
Does Z Sport use OEM parts on vehicles?
Yes. We use the OEM parts that are meant specifically for your vehicle as well as aftermarket parts that meet or exceed OEM specifications and quality. We also get our parts from what people call "white box", "brown box", or "blank box" suppliers direct. This means that we get the same exact parts as the dealers do through the same suppliers they use, minus all the box logos. Saving you money.
Is it ok if I bring in my own parts for Z Sport to install?
Yes, there is no problem with this. However, we cannot warranty your parts that we install.
How long is your Engine & Transmission warranty?
Remanufactured Engines are 24,000 miles to 24 months whichever comes first. Import Engines are 12,000 miles to 12 months whichever comes first. All Transmissions are 6000 miles to 6 months whichever comes first.
Does Z Sport sell engines or transmissions over the counter?
Yes, but only select engines and transmissions that we have more than 1 in stock. Contact us to find out!
The vehicle I need to bring in to have work done on is my only vehicle, do you have loaner cars or a car I may rent?
Yes, Hertz Rental vehicles are available through us at a discounted price.
I need to buy new tires and have them mounted, can Z Sport mount tires?
We do not sell or install or balance tires nor do we perform wheel alignments.
Is it possible to order a part over the phone or e-mail and have it shipped to my home address?
I need to have my car towed into your shop, do you have a tow truck?
Yes, we have our own tow truck. We offer free towing for engine or transmission replacement services, otherwise towing fees will apply.
What is your hourly rate for labor?
Labor/Diagnostic/Electrical Diagnostic Rates are $99/hour.
Is Z Sport an emissions certified shop?
Yes, we are a state emissions certified shop.
My check engine light is on, what do I do?
A blinking check engine light is a critical problem and the car needs to come in right away. However, a check engine light that is steadily on with no noticable symptoms typically can be scheduled at your convenience. Contact us for more info.
How long can I drive my car between oil changes and other fluid changes?
A good rule to go by is every 3000 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. Synthetic Racing/High Performance oils should be changed at this interval as well, though the oil may be rated at 5000 miles or 6 months, the oil filter may not.
My car is running rough, do I need a tune up?
Maybe. It is better to diagnose the rough running problem than to assume it just needs a tune up. There are multiple items that can cause a car to run rough besides the tune up components. This may save you money as you may not need new tune up components.
How many times a year does my vehicle need a full courtesy inspection?
It is best to have a vehicle fully inspected before summer and before winter, as this is typically when having a good, running, efficient, and properly maintained vehicle is needed.
